Why the state of the Healthcare System Will Never Improve

In Slovenia, people have been talking about the problems in the healthcare system for as long as I can remember. We discuss the causes, the current state, and how to improve it. However, I believe that the situation in healthcare will never improve.

Why?

Let's focus on the causes first. I will not talk about individual factors, such as doctors, corruption, or anything else that comes to mind. If we look at the big picture of the country – education, healthcare, the pension system, railway infrastructure – we see that all of these things and many others are in crisis and have their own problems. What is the cause of such a bad situation? The state.

And who is supposed to fix this bad situation? The state. Here we see the problem. The state is responsible for the bad situation and is supposed to improve it. The same people who created the bad situation are supposed to improve it now.

Therefore, my conclusion is: As long as the state controls education, healthcare... the situation will remain the same, and will probably even get worse. Unless people who are capable of improving the situation come to power, but there are currently none in Slovenian politics.
